Today 6th July 2016, is the day we
scheduled to continue doing the first prototype for the Chitete-zo movable Stove. Again this post interlocks with my
previous update on the production of the same. After what we made on Monday the
4th of July together with the women, the anticipation was high which was coupled with an excitement and
yearning for more action towards the completion of our “Prototypes” for this
project. The women came early as usual and following our agreement during our
last meeting, the women brought sweet potatoes, some brought salt, groundnuts
flour and pots to prepare some food cooked using the stationed Chitete-zo stove that we made on
Monday. It was very interesting to see that our stationed Chitete-zo Stove was
nearly ready and we decided to use it still for the purposes of demonstrating
to the women how they can be cooking their foods using this stove with its
numerous advantages.
We ate the sweet potatoes which were cooked on the
stove. The potatoes were mixed with groundnut flour and this meal is known as Futali in Chichewa.

Everybody loved how
the meal was cooked in no time. The meal was delicious and we really loved the
day. This gave us the energy to move on with the preparation of the movable stove.

While some women were busy preparing the sweet
potatoes, the other women were engaged in preparing of the clay for the movable
Stove. Although we couldn't find a perfect steal bucket to use for the
prototype, we worked diligently in utilizing the available bucket so that the
women could still learn on how to make this type of stove.

It was amazing to
see the women sharing roles and participating while working as a group towards
our common agenda for the day, no wonder our day was incredible and enjoyable.
After we finalized the first phase for producing
our second prototype, we agreed to leave our stove and visit it after a day to
finalize with adding stands and handles. This is going to be an amazing
project, and I love it so much. The IWETI Project is surely on course
